Abstract
The Lillooet TSA Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) plan specifies environmental, social, and economic performance indicators to be used to evaluate the success of plan participants in achieving their stated goal of sustainable forest management. This document reports on the status of each indicator for the calendar year 2005 and whether targets are being achieved. The data within this document was summarized from information submitted by each plan proponent. The SFM Plan document can be found at the following web address: http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/dcs/SustainableForestry/SustainableForestry_DLI.htm While the main goal of this document is to report on compliance levels, it also aims to determine how and why differences occur between forecasted targets and actual results and recommend improvements to management or targets for the next round of SFM reporting. This document is a companion document to the ?Annual SFM Monitoring Report - 2005? and provides the technical detail behind the summarized results in that document. In 2004, through the effort and dedication of a public advisory group, forest licensees, and managing agencies, a Sustainable Forest Management plan (SFM) was created to guide management activities on the Lillooet Timber Supply Area (TSA). The SFM plan was created to be in accordance with the Canadian Standards Association?s standards for sustainable forest management (CAN/CSA-Z809-02), which is modeled after the Canadian Council of Forestry Ministers (CCFM) SFM framework. Critical components of the plan include ongoing and meaningful public participation, progress towards performance targets and continual improvement in performance. participating forest licensees: Ainsworth Lumber Co. Ltd., Teal Cedar Products Ltd., Lytton Lumber Ltd., BC Timber Sales.
