Biological control of western hemlock dwarf mistletoe

Abstract
N. neomacrospora can significantly reduce spread and intensification of dwarf mistletoe. However, since bark wounding appears to be required for extensive infection, the potential of this parasite for use in aerial or ground based spore suspension applications is limited. C. gloeosporioides on the other hand, has a significant short-term effect, but that effect, at least with the isolate we selected, appears to be short-lived, and to have a relatively minor impact on the longer term development of dwarf mistletoe..
