Abstract
The research will answer questions regarding the use of various forest conditions and treatments that can provide key habitat. Key outcomes include: · Relating to Phase A, forest companies will be able to use treatment information to adjust practices (based on identified thresholds) for variable retention, snag retention, maintenance of CWD, and management of deciduous species. · Relating Phase B, provide an assessment on the effectiveness of winter bird communities as indicators for forest practices; and, · Resulting from both phases, implement change in practices, based on indicator response, that will adjust the current constraint load (60%), on the TFL land base.
