| Reasons: | This is likely quite a common species in SW BC, and probably not very threatened. |
| Range | |
| Range Extent: | EF = 5,000-200,000 square km |
| Range Extent Comments: | Using documented locations, this species occurs over ca. 13,000 sq km. A larger range is likely especially if records from Mt Robson Park and Peterson Creek bridge on Alcan highway are valid collections. |
| Occurrences & Population | |
| Number of Occurrences: | CD = 21 - 300 |
| Comments: | There are 28 specimens at UBC but also very common throughout Vancouver on street trees and occasionally walls but also on hardwood trees in natural habitats. This species is probably overlooked and under-collected due to its similarity to other Orthotrichum spp. (S. Joya, pers. comm. 2014). |
