##Despite its widespread distribution in the province, this species isn't very well covered by either the CBC or BBS, and thus trend estimates aren't very reliable at the BCR scale. Medium-term trends at the scale of the province suggest a strong decline over the last four decades (BBS 1973-2009: -3.2%/yr [-5.6,-0.8]), similar in magnitude to the decline occurring across Canada (-2.2%/yr [-3.4,-0.9]), but more recent trends are much less certain, and may even support some stability or increase in numbers in some areas.## (Anna Calvert; March 2011)
