Reasons: Restricted to the Queen Charlotte islands in BC, Cassiope lycopodioides ssp. cristapilosa is fairly abundant being the most taxon within the species. Potential threats include wind farm development.

Range Extent: DE = 1,000-20,000 square km
Range Extent Comments: Restricted to subalpine and alpine habitats on the Queen Charlotte islands, Cassiope lycopodioides ssp. cristapilosa is estimated to occur over less than 7000 sq km in BC.
 
Occurrences & Population
Number of Occurrences: CD = 21 - 300
Comments: Cassiope lycopodioides ssp. cristapilosa is the most common subspecies of C. lycopodioides on QCI, found in nearly all subalpine and alpine habitats surveyed (Calder and Taylor 1968). There are at least 25 documented collections and many other locations expected.
