Global Habitat Comments: On soil, rotten logs, and tree trunks, from the lowlands to about 1000m (Lawton 1971). In British Columbia, in swampy areas of logs, boulders, and earth, also epiphytic on deciduous trees, particularly Acer macrophylum and Quercus douglasii; common in coastal areas from sear-level to subalpine elevations; very local in humid forests of the British Columbia Mountains (Schofield 1976).
