| Global Range Comment: | Cyperus squarrosus is found throughout much of the world in North America from southern Canada to Mexico, continuing south through the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. It is also native to Africa South of the Sahara Desert, South Asia, and Australia, and exotic in southern Europe (FNA 2002, POWO 2025). Range extent was estimated using herbarium specimens, photo-based observations, and NatureServe Network occurrence data collected between 1994 and 2025 (GBIF 2025, iNaturalist 2025, NatureServe 2025, RARECAT 2025, SEINet 2025). | ||||||||||
