General Description:
Global Reproduction Comments: In an urban stream in Virginia, this species produces clear winter and spring-early summer generations as well as one or more additional, partial generation later in the summer (Alexander and Smock 2005).

Global Habitat Comments: This species is found in flowing water in creeks and rivers as well as some lakes (Myers et al. 2011; Houghton 2016; SCAN 2024).

Global Food Habits Comments: Adults of this taxon consume liquid with sponge-like mouth parts and larvae of this species gather and consume detritus (Voshell 2002; Houghton and Holzenthal 2010).
