| Global Habitat Comments: | This subspecies occurs along roads, around mud, and on hilltops from 1382 to 4921 ft. (420 to 1500 m), and on Mt. Ashland, Oregon, USA, at 7500ft/2286m (Jordan, 2012). It prefers sparsely vegetated coastal sand ecosystems and scrub oak ecosystems, with large areas of exposed bare ground, dry well-drained soil, and short turf grasses and bunchgrasses. Bunchgrasses are important for larvae, as the species constructs larval shelters using these types of grass species (COSEWIC, 2013). | ||||||||||
