The Corning Creek watershed encompasses approximately 30 square kilometres of mostly forested land near Shuswap Lake in the Southern Interior region of British Columbia. The creek is known locally as Lee Creek, which lends its name to a small, unincorporated settlement near the mouth of the creek. An overview key map is provided at the beginning of this report delineating the study area.

The objectives of this project were: 1) To characterize the present state of natural resources within the Corning Creek watershed and identify existing resource use interactions and linkages; 2) To complete an Interior Watershed Assessment Procedure (IWAP) for the watershed aimed at identifying existing problem areas and possible future forest harvesting impacts that may result in alterations to peak flows, riparian areas, rates of surface erosion and mass wasting; 3) To make recommendations regarding the need for further or more detailed watershed component assessments and/or restoration projects; 4) To make recommendations regarding the approach to future forest development.
