The five project watersheds (Toba, Homathko, Southgate, Brem and Quatam) have been identified by the BC First Nations and the BC Ministry of Environment, Lands and Parks (MELP) as being a priority for fisheries inventory/management. This document, as well as the associated maps and attachments, provide a report on the findings of the inventory.

The five project watersheds (Toba, Homathko, Southgate, Brem and Quatam) have been identified by the BC First Nations and the BC Ministry of Environment, Lands and Parks (MELP) as being a priority for fisheries inventory/management. This document, as well as the associated maps and attachments, provide a report on the findings of the inventory. Primary objectives of the inventory were: to describe watershed-wide fish distributions and habitat characteristics for all watersheds within the project area; to identify the presence, distribution and habitat preferences for three high priority, provincially managed fish species located in the Klahoose and Homalco traditional territories, specifically, wild, indigenous steelhead (rainbow) trout, cutthroat trout and bull trout (char); and to provide technical personnel from the Homalco and Klahoose First Nations with basic training in overview inventory field data collection methods and mapping/GIS, as well as a general understanding of all phases of the inventory process.
